Every shelter is not just guaranteed to be the most durable you will ever own, but also free of harmful chemicals like fire retardants and long chain PFCs.
Fibers
We use only use the most durable fibers. We use Nylon 66 because it is stronger and more durable than Nylon 6 and polyester used in most tents. Our Spectra guy cords are stronger than steel at less the half the weight.
Poles
Our custom made Easton poles come in aluminum and carbon fiber versions that offer the ultimate in strength and durability. Every pole is built with extreme weather shock cords and corrosion proof molded pole tips for the ultimate durability and field serviceability.
Zippers
The #1 failure point on tents is zippers. This is why even our lightest shelters come with locally made, #5 YKK coil zippers paired with custom made Nylon sliders for the ultimate lightweight durability.
Fabrics
Our main fabric is 30 Denier ripstop that is gram for gram the most durable possible. Made locally in the US from Nylon 66 instead of cheaper and weaker Nylon 6 or the even worse polyester.
Stakes
Our stakes are made of grade 2 commercially pure titanium that is supremely durable, yet lightweight and corrosion proof. The V design allows you to use a rock when staking out your shelter. Each stake is laser etched and outfitted with custom braided Spectra cord.
Coatings
Our non breathable coatings are exclusively made from silicone instead of weaker and less durable urethane coatings. We don’t use typical waterproof breathable coatings, but instead use WPB laminates or electro-spun construction, because of its vastly superior strength and durability to traditional coatings.
Cords
Our guy cords are made from custom braided Spectra for the ultimate in strength and durability. Spectra is 15 times the strength of steel and has 4 times the abrasion resistance.
